Choose a proxy connection

Open Multiplayer → Proxy before joining a server. Proxy settings are separate from the normal in-world Hexis menu and remain available without the module.

Add a SOCKS5 or HTTP CONNECT proxy with its host, port, and optional credentials. Test checks whether a tunnel can be established. It does not log into Minecraft or prove which public IP a server will observe.

Choose how this Minecraft account connects:

ChoiceBehavior
Use defaultUses the default connection choice
DirectConnects directly, even when a default proxy is configured
A saved proxyUses that proxy or stops the connection attempt

Changes apply on the next connection. They do not move an existing connection to a different proxy. A failed proxy never triggers a direct fallback. Replace an entry's account and default assignments before deleting it.

If settings cannot be read, joining is blocked. Repair the configuration and use Reload repaired settings rather than silently resetting to direct.

Credentials and traffic

Credentials stay in the Minecraft instance's config/hexis/proxies.json as plaintext. Never share that file or upload the whole configuration directory. A blank password field keeps the saved password; Clear password removes it when you save.

The proxy routes the Minecraft server connection and modern server-list pings. Account authentication, resource packs, skins, Hexis downloads, and live-view traffic remain direct. A server-operated resource-pack endpoint can therefore observe your direct address. DNS SRV lookups remain local; destination hostname resolution happens at the proxy.

SOCKS5 and HTTP CONNECT do not by themselves encrypt the connection to your proxy. Use a provider and network you trust.
